I love this verse. It perfectly describes God’s agape love. Your goodness can’t win God’s love. Nor can your badness lose it. But you can resist it. And, you know, sometimes we definitly do that.
Some of you may have never known or experienced a deep love, let alone the love of a holy and perfect God. Perhaps you’ve been rejected by someone you’ve loved. Perhaps you’ve been rejected over and over again, to the point where you’ve given up on love altogether. Human love, God’s love, love in any form.You may have given up on yourself and others, but God has never given up on you! God loves you with an everlasting love; with a pure and perfect love – stronger than you can ever imagine. He will never reject or betray you. God will not let you go. He handcuffs himself to you in love. And he owns the only key. You don’t need to win his love. You already have it. And since you can’t win it, you can’t lose it. God loves you so much that “He gave His one and only Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life.”
The love of God is powerful and trustworthy. He’s proven that in Jesus Christ. Grasp hold of God’s love – He will never let you go! Bind yourself to God, as He has bound himself to you, because He wants to love you forever!
