Beauty

Only 2 percent of women in the United States would describe themselves as beautiful.

But what is beauty? Is it the size of your jeans? The color of your hair? Is beauty reflected on the scale or is it in the heart?

Why do girls obsess over beauty? Is it because we want love? Have we fallen into the lie that we are not good enough, not pretty enough, not smart enough, not tough enough, not worth enough for God’s love?

Women are created in the image and likeness of God and the unique way that women reflect God is in their beauty. Someone who has a heart filled with joy and compassion is as beautiful as it gets. And this beauty is not just an inner beauty! It’s a real, physical beauty too! God did not make any mistakes on you physically. You are created EXACTLY how He knew would reflect His beauty perfectly and uniquely through you.

You may not fit the image of what a ‘perfect’ woman looks like according to people who decided it was best to be blonde/brunette, tall/short, skinny/curvy, (fill in the blank with whatever people decide is currently ‘most beautiful’), but that does not change the fact that you ARE beautiful. And not just on the
inside.
